Spring concert: Awakening

Awakening – from quiet night to gathering light

Join the Pennine Singers for our spring concert!

The programme includes musical gems by Whitacre, Stanford, and Vaughan Williams. You’ll hear favourites such as Kate Rusby’s Underneath the Stars and Finzi’s uplifting My Spirit Sang all Day. We’ll raise a smile with brilliant arrangements of traditional songs such as Dashing Away with the Smoothing Iron and Early One Morning. And we’ll get your toes tapping and your thumbs clicking to classics such as Billy Joel’s For the Longest Day.

We finish our programme with the fabulous medieval cano...

A Ceremony of Carols – Sunday 7th December 2025 4.30 pm, St Paul’s church Stalybridge

The programme also features works from the Renaissance to the present day, on the theme of advent, light, reverence and joy. You’ll hear familiar Christmas favourites such as the traditional carols In Dulci Jubilo and Gaudete, plus Macmillan’s stunning O Radiant Dawn ...
